R2E2 Mango Plant (Mangifera indica) is a famous Australian-bred mango variety developed in Queensland by crossing Bowen and Kent mangoes. It was selected in 1982 and released commercially in 1991. R2E2 is especially known for its large, colourful fruits, attractive red-orange blush, firm low-fibre to fibreless orange flesh, sweet tropical flavour and excellent shelf life. Depending on fruit grade and growing conditions, fruits can range from medium-large to exceptionally large; Australian industry grading lists large R2E2 fruits around 640–845 g, with extra-large fruit above 845 g.
